The Girlfriend, starring Rashmika Mandanna, has been earning mostly positive reviews from critics and audiences ever since its release earlier this November. Actor Eesha Rebba is the latest from the world of cinema to praise the film, directed by Rahul Ravindran. Eesha took to her Instagram Stories and called The Girlfriend a hard-hitting film. "I felt everything Bhuma felt; every emotion just stayed with me," she wrote, referring to Rashmika's character in the film. The actor also lauded Rashmika's performance in the film, suggesting that she disappeared into the role. "I did not see Rashmika for a second, only Bhuma. What a performance!" wrote Eesha.

The actor also expressed her gratitude to director Rahul "for making something so important and so real." She went on described it as "not just a story" but "an experience". Eesha also had kind words to say about the film's lead actor Dheekshith Shetty's performance. "You acted so well that I absolutely hated your character," she wrote, referring to Dheekshith.

Referring to Anu Emmanuel's character, she said, "Every girl needs a friend like you." Eesha also gave a shout-out to Rohini Molleti and the rest of the cast, whose performances she found "incredible". Eesha ended the long post, saying, "Movies like this are so needed."
